Objective:

This article explains how to replace the LED for a G2 (generation 2) IR Pen.

Instructions:

1. A G2 IR Pen looks the same as a G1 IR Pen.
   
2. Remove the end cap.
   
3. Pull out the LED from the LED mount.
   
4. Take a good IR LED and use a marker mark the short leg (negative leg).
   
5. Cut both legs to 5 mm in length using a wire cutter. Make sure the negative leg has mark on it.
   
6. Plug the LED to the LED mount with the negative leg into the marked port.
   
7. After plugging back the LED light.
   
8. Place the end cap back.
